I shot a word into the air

It harshly fell on ears out there

And now it’s gone, it’s grown a life

Sharp and steely, a double-edged knife

If I could take it back I would

But alas, I regret it’s gone for good.

So please my friends, take utter care

And think about the words you share

For they will land on tender ears

Cause a friend to hear their fears

As you are standing in a well of right

Your word cowers in the dark of night

Choose a word of peace and grace

To paint great joy on every face

Soon your word, on the wing of a dove

Will return singing you are loved
